THE DAILY MAIL AND MAIL ON SUNDAY WIN BIG

The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday brought home big wins from the awards.

Congratulations to the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday for winning Daily Newspaper of the Year and Sunday Newspaper of the Year at the London Press Club Awards on 27th October.

The judges commented in addition to their unanimous decisions, that the awards were well won because of the papers “groundbreaking scoops and investigations” plus “superb Sport and City sections”.

David Williiams won Print Journalist of the Year, with the LPC asserting “David Williams of the Daily Mail has spent much of his career reporting on the ground from danger zones… He has told the human, harrowing, stories of hundreds of translators, many of whom were hunted down by the Taliban and many whose lives, and that of their families, were in danger.

“In the panic of the final weeks, hundreds turned to Williams for help. Translators believe the force of his journalism combined with his commitment and dedication helped save many lives.”

The fourth and final accolade of the night for our newsbrands was Daily Mail’s Andrew Pierce, whowon Multimedia Journalist of the Year, which LPC awarded him for “his hard-hitting columns in the Daily Mail to preceptive comments in his podcasts and television broadcasting”.
