PRINTERS ACROSS THE UK WARN OF IMMINENT PRICE RISES

Printing companies across the UK are facing the prospect of double-digit rises in paper prices following announcements of unavoidable increases by UK paper merchants.

Supplying mills have confirmed that due to escalating cost pressures the increased prices are unavoidable in order to maintain sustainable supply. Continued high pulp prices along with rapidly increasing costs of energy and transportation costs have been cited as the key factors driving the price increases.

Whilst many printers have worked to try and mitigate and delay the implementation of any increase in recent months, most are now left with little option with price increases expected on a number of products and printers estimating somewhere between a 6 and 10% increase on affected product groups.
